Meet the Client
Iron Stream Network is a Christian publishing company focused on discipleship resources, study materials, and digital tools that help individuals and churches engage more deeply with Scripture.
John had already gone through a major business transition, including selling one part of the company he had previously built. But he still had other discipleship projects that needed a better digital home. His existing WordPress setup was no longer serving the business well, and he was ready to move to something more stable, more organized, and easier to manage long term.
At the center of this project was D-Life Online, a large collection of digital discipleship resources that included four years of study content, weekly printables, lesson descriptions, and Spanish lessons. The content was valuable, but the platform experience was not.
He needed a way to preserve and organize these resources inside Kajabi without the drag of an outdated, painfully slow WordPress setup.
The Challenge: A Slow WordPress Site and a Lot of Moving Pieces
This project was much bigger than a simple page transfer.
The existing WordPress site was extremely slow, which made it frustrating to manage on the backend and frustrating for users on the front end. On top of that, the D-Life content library included a significant amount of material that needed to be thoughtfully restructured for Kajabi.
The project also included several layers of complexity:
- Multiple discipleship products that needed a clearer home
- Four years of D-Life content broken into weekly lessons
- Printable journals and study resources that needed to stay accessible
- Checkouts that needed to move into Kajabi as well
- A request-a-sample funnel to support discovery before purchase
- A new site structure that would feel simpler and more stable moving forward
This was not about recreating every part of the old site. It was about moving the right content, organizing it well, and creating a better user experience inside Kajabi.
The Strategy
Before implementation began, we used our planning process to determine what actually needed to move and what could be left behind.
The strategy was to:
- Move the D-Life discipleship products from WordPress into Kajabi
- Rebuild the essential customer journey instead of migrating unnecessary clutter
- Keep the setup focused on the most important pages, offers, and course products
- Bring the checkout experience into Kajabi for a more unified flow
- Create a request-a-sample funnel so potential customers could preview the material before subscribing or purchasing
We intentionally did not move everything. For example, old blog posts were left behind so we could focus time and energy on the parts of the business that directly supported the next season of growth.
That kind of decision matters in migration work. A smart migration is not just copying and pasting old content into a new platform. It is deciding what deserves to come with you.
The Solution: A Custom Kajabi Migration for D-Life Online
Over two focused days, I migrated and rebuilt the foundation of the D-Life Online experience inside Kajabi.
The scope centered around a new Kajabi-based setup for Iron Stream Network, including a streamlined website structure and multiple course products.
Key Features
Website Foundation in Kajabi
We mapped out a new simplified site structure that included the core pages needed for launch, such as:
- Home page
- Login page
- Library page
- Offer pages for D-Life Online
- Request a sample funnel
This gave the business a much cleaner starting point than the older WordPress setup.
Multi-Product Kajabi Migration
The main migration focused on four D-Life digital products:
- New Testament 1
- New Testament 2
- Old Testament 1
- Old Testament 2
Each product required a course setup, lesson organization, and a structure that made the material easier to access and navigate within Kajabi.
In two days, we migrated 2.5 of these products!
Weekly Lesson + Printable Resource Organization
The D-Life resources were not just simple downloads. Each program included:
- Weekly printable materials
- Lesson descriptions
- Journal resources
Part of the build involved ensuring these pieces were organized clearly within the Kajabi course products so users could move through the material without confusion.
Journal Access in the Course Sidebar
A printed version of the journal was added to the course sidebar, with hosting kept on the Iron Stream Media website. This allowed students to access important companion materials while still moving through the Kajabi experience.
Kajabi Offers + Checkouts

Rather than keeping checkout disconnected, we moved the D-Life Online checkout flow into Kajabi as well. That meant setting up:
- Preview offer
- Main offers for 10 different group sizes
- Confirmation emails
- Confirmation pages
- Offer automation and tagging
This created a more consistent user journey from interest to access.
Request-a-Sample Funnel

To help potential customers experience the material before committing, we also built a request-a-sample flow. This included:
- A request-a-sample form
- Automation to grant the preview offer
- A confirmation page
- Access to sample material from New Testament 1
This was a smart addition because it reduced friction for people who wanted to see the quality of the content before purchasing.
What Was Built
The migration and build included work on:
- Home page
- 10 Kajabi Offer pages with a custom-coded dropdown menu to select the appropriate group size
- Request-a-sample funnel (preview product, form, automations)
- New Testament 1 product
- New Testament 2 product
- Old Testament 1 product (half of the materials)
- Confirmation emails and automations
- Site settings, branding details, and domain connection support
This gave Iron Stream Network a far more stable and intentional Kajabi foundation for D-Life Online than what they had previously in WordPress.
Support & Process
Like most good migrations, this project required more than simply “moving content.”
We worked through:
- Discovery and scope clarification
- A prep call to confirm naming, website structure, pricing, and product priorities
- Asset collection, including branding details, favicon, media file organization, and sample content
- Strategic decisions around what to move, what to leave behind, and how to simplify the new build
Because of the size of the project, the work was approached in a phased, practical way that supported both immediate launch needs and future cleanup.
The Results: A More Stable Home for D-Life Online
By the end of the project, Iron Stream Network had the beginnings of a much stronger digital foundation inside Kajabi.
Instead of continuing to rely on a very slow WordPress setup, John now had:
- A more stable platform for his discipleship products
- A simplified site structure centered on the offers that matter most
- Kajabi-based course products for D-Life content
- Integrated offers and checkout flows
- A request-a-sample path to make the buying decision easier for new leads
Most importantly, the project helped move valuable discipleship resources into a platform that can better support future growth, updates, and customer experience.
Why This Build Matters
For publishers, educators, and ministry-focused organizations, migrations are not just technical projects. They are stewardship projects.
When your content library is large, your audience is growing, and your old platform is slowing you down, moving to Kajabi can create:
- A more stable customer experience
- Easier access to digital products
- Cleaner checkout and delivery flows
- A simpler backend for your team to manage
And when the content you are delivering is discipleship-focused, clarity matters even more. People need a path that feels easy to navigate so they can focus on the material itself, not the platform.
